Suppose I sell services to some ltd companies for which I issue an invoice each time. I am paid by cheque or bank transfer to my account. I should be self-employed and registered with HMRC but I am not.
What is the probability of HMRC finding out that I do this "hidden economy" business? How can they detect it? The only thing which comes to my mind is that they can do it by checking books of the ltd companies which I co-operate with. Any other possibility?
